Irene Baird (Maxine): Irene Baird is an actress, teacher and director. Ms. Baird holds a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. from the Carnegie Mellon and New York University. She is a recipient of Fulbright and Ford Foundation awards for acting. Ms. Baird studied acting with Allen Fletcher, Allan Miller, and Lee Strasberg. She studied abroad with the Bristol Old Vic Theater and director, Peter Brook, at the International Institute for Theatre Research in Paris. Ms. Baird acted in New York for 13 years with several companies including off-Broadway’s Circle in the Square. Her Favorite roles include Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire and Mde. Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard. Locally, Ms. Baird last performed win Loveletters, with Lee Pucklis in Philadelphia. Some other recent roles Ms. Baird has played include Liz Barnard in Sympathetic Magic, Lily Rykersful in A Stronger Faith, and Queen Margaret in Henry VI Part Three.
