The Cast of The Night of the Iguana

Anthony M. Giampetro (Shannon): Anthony M. Giampetro, from Bryn Mawr, played Mountain in Requiem for a Heavyweight at the Montgomery County Cultural Center. He has acted at the Philadelphia Theatre Co., the Philadelphia Drama Guild, Philadelphia Festival Theatre and Villanova University. He appresed as Hoss in The Tooth of Crime. Anthony appeared as Chief Bromden in the critically acclaimed One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Carter in the Philadelphia premiere of Simpatico.

Irene Baird (Maxine): Irene Baird is an actress, teacher and director. Ms. Baird holds a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. from the Carnegie Mellon and New York University. She is a recipient of Fulbright and Ford Foundation awards for acting. Ms. Baird studied acting with Allen Fletcher, Allan Miller, and Lee Strasberg. She studied abroad with the Bristol Old Vic Theater and director, Peter Brook, at the International Institute for Theatre Research in Paris. Ms. Baird acted in New York for 13 years with several companies including off-Broadway’s Circle in the Square. Her Favorite roles include Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire and Mde. Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard. Locally, Ms. Baird last performed win Loveletters, with Lee Pucklis in Philadelphia. Some other recent roles Ms. Baird has played include Liz Barnard in Sympathetic Magic, Lily Rykersful in A Stronger Faith, and Queen Margaret in Henry VI Part Three.

Theresa Epp (Hanna): Theresa is an actress and teacher with an MA in theatre from Villanova University. She most recently acted in the Fringe Festival 2000 in The Shadow of the Glen. She has acted in the Boston and Philadelphia areas in such productions as In the Boom Boom Room, Spring's Awakening, Identity Crisis, Lorca's Butterfly's Evil Spell, and Once Five Years Pass. She teaches acting at Widener University and has directed A Raisen in the Sun at Widener.

Michael Dura (Nonno) Michael has been actively involved in theatre, dance, music, and film in the Philadelphia area and elsewhere for the past twenty years, playing a range of characters from Tarzan to Thomas Becket. He was a regular with Big Mess Theatre for the length of its existence and has also performed with such groups as Independent Theatre at the Brick Playhouse. He frequently joings forces in performance works with his brother, Thomas. During this year’s fringe festival, he was seen as the speaking machine in Bell and Clock at St. Augustine’s Church. He also appeared as Eck and Weinand in the Iron Age production of Luther.

Dorden Bivings (Hank): Dordan is a Villanova University graduate - B.A. Economics.in 1994. He did not major or minor in theatre at Nova, but was involved in many productions. He appeared as the Knight in Luther. He also appeared in few local commercials and productions. Dordan has served as musical director for a local band, Special Blendz, for 5 years. He is a ocal working musician and hopes to release first solo CD by spring of 2001. Dordan has a son.

Gerre Garrett (Mrs. Fellows): Gerre played Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Grace in Requiem for a Heavyweight. She has appeared in An Evening with Frankenharry with Harry Philibosian and Frank X directed by Bruce Graham. She also appeared in bruce Graham's Moon over the Brewery, The Best of It at the Painted Bride, Ficticious Theater Co's Blue Window and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She teaches acting an Villanova University and Venture Theater.

Amanda Schoonover (Charlotte): Amanda recently appeared as Emily in Our Town directed by Tom Teti at Hedgerow and as Liza in the critically aclaimed The Hole with Theatrix. She can be seen next as Echo in Azuka Theatre Collective's production of Polaroid Stories at the Playground at the Adrienne. Amanda holds a BA from the university of the Arts where she was lucky enought to have worked with Irene Baird, Paul Berman and David Rabe.

Patrick Edward White (Latta): Patrick first worked with Iron Age Theatre in the critically acclaimed Seventy Scenes of Halloween. He has previously appeared as Mugsy in Dealer’s Choice for VOX Theatre, and is a co-creator of The Meat Opera: To Sirloin with Love, in which he performed the role of Sal Minella.

Mario Cotto (Pedro): Mario recently graduated from Haveford College where he studied theater at Bryn Mawr with Mark Lord. Most recently he played one of the four "c"s in Bighouse's Across at the PHiladelphia FRinge 2000. He played Hector in Teatrolegasi's Roosters. He also has perfromed with Comedy Sports for two years.
